Loan signing, coming soon.

Certification and equipment are underway. Mobile notary service is available across San Luis Obispo County right now.

Where this stands

Loan signing is a specialization on top of a notary commission, not a separate license. The commission is active. What's still in progress is the signing agent certification, the background screening the title and escrow world expects, and the dual-tray laser printer that legal-size loan packages require.

I'd rather say that plainly than take a signing I'm not equipped to run well. A botched package costs an escrow officer their afternoon and their client's closing date.

What it will cover

Background worth knowing

I spent years as a mortgage loan officer before this. I've read these packages from the origination side, which means the note, the deed of trust, the closing disclosure, and the right of rescission aren't unfamiliar paper to me. That doesn't substitute for certification. It's the reason this is the tier I'm adding first.

Title, escrow, or lending?

If you'd like to know when this goes live, send a note and I'll follow up when the certification lands. In the meantime, general notary work across SLO County is available today.
