Why Firsthand

I started Firsthand Document Services to be the thing that's hard to find when you need it: a local notary who answers the phone, tells you what it costs before showing up, and comes to you.

Before this I spent years as a marriage and family therapist, and years in mortgage lending as a loan officer. I've also financed home builders with my own capital, which is where I learned what a missed deadline actually costs someone. When a signature has to happen today, that isn't an inconvenience. It's money, or a closing, or a family decision that can't wait.

The therapy years show up most in the appointments other notaries find uncomfortable. A power of attorney at a hospital bedside. An advance directive in memory care. A family in a hard moment, where what matters is whether the signer understands what's in front of them, and whether the decision is really theirs. Those are the rooms I spent a career in.

The rest of the time it's simpler. A deed, a title transfer, a travel consent, an affidavit. I show up when I said I would, do it correctly, and hand it back to you.
