A focus on estate, family, and bedside signings

Powers of attorney, advance directives, and estate documents are the heart of what I do, often at a hospital bedside or in a care facility. Before this I spent years as a marriage and family therapist, which is what these appointments call for: patience, and a calm presence in a hard moment.

Fees

Two numbers, added together

$15 per signature notarized. California sets this maximum. Two signers on one document is two signatures. One signer on three documents is three signatures.

Plus a travel fee, based on where you are. This is separate from the signature fee and is agreed to before I book the appointment.

Zone 1 $20

Morro Bay · Los Osos · Baywood · Cayucos

Zone 2 $25

San Luis Obispo · Atascadero · Cambria · San Simeon · Santa Margarita

Zone 3 $30

Avila Beach · Templeton

Zone 4 $40

Paso Robles · San Miguel · Pismo Beach · Arroyo Grande · Grover Beach · Nipomo

Example: one signature at your home in Los Osos is $15 + $20 = $35 total.

Attorneys, title, and escrow: recurring and standing appointments welcome. Contact me about regular service.

Estate & Bedside Signings

Bedside and care-facility visits

Powers of attorney, advance directives, and estate documents at a hospital, hospice, or care facility. These take more time and coordination, so they carry a flat visit fee on top of the usual signature and travel fees.

  • Facility visit fee$80
  • Notarial fee$15 / signature
  • Travelby zone (above)

Example: a POA and an advance directive at a Morro Bay skilled nursing facility is $80 + $20 travel + $30 (two signatures) = $130 total. Everything is quoted and agreed before I arrive.

How It Works

Three steps

  1. Tell me what you have. Document, how many signers, where you are.
  2. I come to you. ID checked, signature witnessed, certificate completed.
  3. You keep everything. Card, tap-to-pay, or cash at the appointment.
Before I Arrive

Three things

  1. Every signer must be there. In person, no exceptions.
  2. Bring current photo ID. Issued within the last five years.
  3. Don't sign yet. Some acts require signing in front of me.

The questions people actually call and ask

What ID works. What happens when a license is expired. Whether a notary can come to the hospital. Why a notary sometimes has to say no.
